X-plane 11 and steam
I'm new to steam (just downloaded today), but I've been using X-plane 11 for quite some time. I added X-plane to my library and it says its a non-steam application. Is this normal? Do I need to purchase a separate version of X-plane for Steam?

My ultimate goal is to use the Valve Index VR to fly the Hotstart TBM 900 (amazing plane on X-plane!). Anyone else use the Index with X-plane. Recommendations for setup?

Did you buy it on steam?

If not then its not a steam application and you won't be able to use all of steam's features with it.

Thank you @brian9824. No, I purchased it from X-plane. So it sounds like I need to purchase the steam version. Can I use third-party aircraft, like the TBM 900?

Just found this on x-plane's website: "Steam VR is a free download that enables X-Plane 11 to use VR. Steam VR is compatible with the X-Plane 11 DVD set, digital download edition, and X-Plane on Steam."

So it looks like my digital download from X-Plane may work after all. I'll test after work today.
