For ♥♥♥♥'s sake I was about to rip my damn hair out trying to figure it out.
Here's what worked for me. In Device Manager, double click on Xbox ACC, go into Details tab, under Property select Hardware Ids. You should have 2 lines. In my case I had USB\VID_045E&PID_02FE&REV_0100
USB\VID_045E&PID_02FE
Go to the Microsoft driver downloads page and search for one of the ID's. 1st one couldn't find anything, 2nd found two versions of Windows 10 Creator Update, and two versions of Anniversary Update. I downloaded the larger file of the Anniversary update. Extract the file from your downloaded Update. And then manually install it under the Xbox ACC in Device Manager.
And it works! No more Xbox ACC, it's showing up under Network Adapters as an Xbox Wireless Controller, and it actually connected to my controller right away.
Here's the direct link to the driver that works:

Thank you so much for the direct link! Today I faced this problem, I thought this could never happen (Plug&Play), but I spent quite a lot of time to "start" it, I did not think that I would find a solution on the Steam forum
This worked for me too Thank you!
This driver worked for me. Thanks!
This one solved my problem!!!!
Windows Update was able to find this for me (well, maybe; it's been "downloading" at 0% for the past ten minutes or so), but going through Device Manager and telling it to download a driver did not work, for whatever reason. Here are some things to know:
- If you plug this thing in, then go to Windows Update and search for updates and it doesn't show anything, you might need to click the "View optional updates" link in Windows Update first, then expand the "Driver updates" list, then select this driver, then click "Download and install".
- If that still doesn't work, the link to the "Microsoft driver downloads page" is here: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=VID_045E%26PID_02FE
- The Creators Update (April 2017) came after the Anniversary Update (August 2016), but it probably doesn't matter which one you pick.
- The files are different sizes because the larger one (217KB) is for the 64-bit version of Windows 10, and the smaller one (194KB) is for the 32-bit version of Windows 10. You almost definitely have the 64-bit version of Windows 10.
