Cannot watch videos in fullscreen on Steam, how to fix?
When I try to watch videos on Steam in fullscreen, such as game trailers or videos on the Steam web browser, all I get is a black screen. I can still hear the video's audio and I know it's still playing, I just can't see anything. It's only on Steam too, I can watch videos in fullscreen just fine on my own web browsers. Any help would be greatly appreciated, because this problem has been affecting me for about a month now.

I was finally able to fix this for myself, under settings in steam Interface section, check the "enable hardware video decoding" box and restart steam. after that i can see them again.

Just tried it, didn't seem to work. However, I can see trailers/videos in fullscreen just fine in big picture mode, so I guess I'll just stick to that...

I had to look for what NVCP is... NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL? if so, theres no such thing as a "valve steam profile" over there.

I ended up fixing it. I uninstalled all of nvidia apps from my computer manually and downloaded the latest version of geforce experience . I installed the latest driver and now it works. (I had a weird bug before doing this where geforce experience would always notice me with new drivers available even tho it would show I had the same version installed as the new one they wanted me to download. Now I don't get this notice anymore).

thanks for trying to help but I checked everywhere I could in nvidia control panel and theres no options at all mentioning anti-aliasing nor anything to do with a steam profile.

I tried the NVCP changed Steam and other Steam Apps to Application Controlled Anti-Aliasing Mode. It didn't make any difference. When I select "Full Screen" for a video from Steam it seems to display a large title bar across the top of the screen, but no video plays. In fact, I have to hit the Escape key, as if I was closing a full-screen window to make the Invisible window go away.

Any other ideas?
