Almost Every Game Crashes to Desktop
Total War: Three Kingdoms; Witcher 3; PUBG; Escape From Tarkov; etc. all crash frequently. Usually after about 10 minutes of play, and then crashes occur about every 5-10 minutes. Drivers are updated, just updated BIOS, running as admin, verifying integrity of game files, setting nvidia control panel to push performance vs optimal... I feel like I have tried everything. It has to be a hardware issue at this point, right? The computer seems to run fine with everything else until I start gaming.

No overclocking, Windows updates are up to date. No new compomnents or changes. I've had this rig for about a year and haven't had any issues up until about a month ago.

Any thoughts, insights, and/or suggestions are welcome. I'm desperate at this point.

Do you have Destiny 2 pre-loaded by chance?

Set your account to only update games when you are not online and try again.

1 Question?

Is your PC using DDR3 RAM?

Because I have quite a close problem to what you are having with Windows 10...

In my Case, I got Windows 10 Pro 64Bit...

I have a 2GB VRAM AMD GPU & also had on another PC a 4GB VRAM AMD GPU...

& my CPU was Intel I7... 3.60 Ghz Non-Overclocked...

I have 2 Displays 1080P, which I upped to 1440P at 60 FPS each,
& they are 24 Inch... & I just recently got a 3rd Display a 32 Inch
1080P TV working... So...

So from what I was told by Microsoft was...

They asked if I was using DDR4 RAM, & when I stated my RAM was DDR3...

They told me, they asked, because DDR4 RAM really, really makes a huge
difference when it comes to Windows 10... o_@

They said, my system is almost barely at the min of what Windows 10 requires
right now...

My Games do not all seem to Crash like yours does, but I do get quite
a bunch of problems with a lot of them that are from like 2017 to 2019
probably around... Some have crashing issues, while some just have
other issues...

Don't get me wrong, Games like Rocket League, & Ultra Street Fighter 4,
I seem to get anywhere between 125 to 178 FPS in Game, & some
Games I do get a straight 60 FPS...

But ya, it might just be that your Motherboard, RAM, & CPU are the bottleneck...

I am recently trying to buy a more up to date style PC, mine is like 6 Generations Old,
& I just got a RADEON VII Red/Gold GPU, hoping after this, I won't have any issues
for quite a while, o_@ This PC better be a BEAST that can handle things for a while,
cause i'm not going to waste money on a 2nd PC if this PC can't handle sht... lOl...

Good Luck

Hello Ganner,
Did you resolve your problem finally?
I have almost the same rig
i5-9600K CPU
RTX 2070
32 GB RAM
No overclock, everything is up-to-date.
And exactly the same issue with games crashing in 5-20 minutes. Before that everything has been stable for more than a year.
I've tried like every fix possible from all over the internet and nothing helped.
The worst part is I don't know what exactly should I blame. Is it soft or hardware? If it is hardware then is it GPU or MoBo or CPU or RAM or PSU or SSD?
And like you I'm desperate at this point.

Download some GPU/CPU monitoring software and check your temps in game.

did you do a new system information after the BIOS update it dont look like that.
Computer Information:
Manufacturer: To Be Filled By O.E.M.
Model: To Be Filled By O.E.M.

thats is call factory default BIOS, and most get update then bios is update, you did say you did it.
its a minor detail, but sometimes they matter because we actual cant see board name and bios version

so from my point of view Unknown board that could have mem leak in bios that support place have fix in a bios version.

NVIDIA GeForce
reinstall with custom and make clean install then checkbox is there.

feel free to use speccy if that system information dont get that information many think is vital clue whats going on or DXdiag.txt then it has scan system

dont forget we are not support here.

This is what could be I can think of for you OP.
- Possible driver issues which need to be reinstall.

- Driver / software conflict, which you need to check if that is the case, can check in the windows event viewer.

- May want to try reg clearer using like ccleaner to see if there issue there.

- Possible game file corruption.

- If using HDD defrag your HDD.

- Ensure to check if you have the latest windows update, and all the drivers you needed to running the game.

Iceira provided some good advice above.

1 Question?

Is your PC using DDR3 RAM?
That's not physically possible with his motherboard if he has the 9th Gen Intel. The last possible ddr3 support was back for 6th Gen Intel, back in 2015/2016.

It's not an DDR3 issue with windows 10, I know this because I have three systems using DDR3 and two systems using DDR4.

Depends on the application you're using your system for, if for gaming you won't see much of a difference, or even at all depending on the game in question. Also doubt anyone will point that out at all, but if they did, they're most likely not talking about what you're think of, unless these people that posting have no idea what they're talking about, and just normal users.

Sounds pretty bs right there, unless you're lacking ram, like less than 2GB for bare minimum of requirements to running the OS, if you got more than 4GB of RAM, you're above the recommended specs. And I'm not talking about the GPU VRAM. Now GPU in question depends what one you have.

You're clearly way above the recommended requirements to running the OS, so shouldn't be an issue, the issue you may face are either driver issue, using out of date drivers that has issues, using unsupported drivers which you're using compatibility mode with the said drivers, or even lacking certain drivers to correctly run things more smoothly. These are issues I encounter, and see for years across windows vista, 7, 8, and 10. Another possible issue is when you do a upgrade like Vista to 7, 7 to 8, or to 10, which could be a transfer issue.

The only possible issue if it's hardware issue is either defective, or has microcode issue for the motherboard which should check by manufacturer website for update on bios.

AMD has a bright future for your next build for CPU choice since Intel not doing too well when comes to price to performance for past few years just worth letting you know.
