Far Cry 3 wont launch

Hi guys,

I got Farcry 3 as a part of the Farcry5 + New Dawn bundle, but I cannot run Farcry 3. I have un-installed and re-installed Farcry 3 multiple times and cleared my download cache like it said in the troubleshooting instructions but it keeps coming up with the same error codes, and they are.

1. The code execution cannot proceed because XINPUT1_3.dll was not found.

and

2. The code execution cannot proceed because D3DCOMPILER_43.dll was not found.

Please, if you can shed any light into this problem I would appreciate it.

Are you positive that the computer you're attempting to run it on, and specifically the operating system bit type, CAN run it?

could try this, see if it helps... you may have to find the file DXSETUP.exe on your installation.

It's here on mine:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Far Cry 3\Support\DirectX

Run DXSETUP.exe from the games setup files. It might just fix your isssue.

I have also tried verifying the integrity of the game files and it also says "1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired" but nothing ever happens after that, it just says to close the window.

Looks like those are missing DirectX files. Try re-installing DirectX files from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35

I just tried that and got another error.

" An internal system error occurred and please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder"

BTW, I do not know if this is an issue or not but he video card listings in your system specifications leads me to believe there may be an issue there as well. I do not have a notebook with two video cards so I have no idea how it supposed to look.

Lol I'm not sure either Vampire, this is my first gaming laptop myself. But within saying that, Far Cry 5 and Far cry New Dawn both work perfectly well.

Perhaps if you tried reinstalling from the games DX folder AFTER disabling any " active scanning " mode in your AV program.

Make sure that your computer is never using the onboard graphics, and instead force it to use that actual Nvidia card. You'll need to find how to achieve that in windows 10, on 7 you'd go into control panel / hardware and find the display adaptors, and 'disable' the chipset.
