a)
Plug in headset and go to
Audio Devices > Playback > set headset as default (no need for DS4 to be connected.)
When you connect the DS4 it shouldn't matter when the headset is connected, before or after, as the headset is default. If you sometimes use speakers the DS4 could still be an issue. For that connect the DS4 then go to
b)
Audio Devices > Playback > select the DS4 and disable it
Option 2
Disable DS4 as audio as described in Option 1b above. No need to do 1a though I think making headset default would be good for most situations.
I don't understand where you are disabling the onboard speaker from. I feel like there is a missed step.
I accessed sound from the control panel, accessed the playback tab, and didn't find the option to set the headset as default. This was because it was already the default. I then set my computer speakers to default, then set the headset back to default to ensure that this was set. I then plugged in the controller, and all seemed fine, and I disabled the controller as a headset earphone. Everything seemed fine until i selected the recording tab.
In recording I already from previous attempts have disabled the controller as a headset microphone, but it still interferes. When I access the tab the audio from the usb headset appears and disappears from the list, while simultaneously making a clicking sound in the ear each time it disappears from the list.
Any other suggestions?
