extremely low fps in game
I have a Lenovo Legion Y740 laptop. It has i7 9750h, 16gb ram, and rtx2080 max-q. In the main menu's of CSGO, I get literally 10 fps in the menus, but it clears up to 200 in game. But in other games like Assassin's Creed Unity and GTA4, the in-game overlay doesn't work, and the game is just a laggy mess. I can't see how much FPS due to my in-game overlay not working, but it looks like it has a straight 5 FPS in the game menus and in-game on lowest settings, 1080p. Is there anything I can do to fix this, other than to get another gaming setup?

edit: Steam is saying i get exactly 4fps on 1080p. surely, integrated graphics can get higher than this right?

First: laptops no matter how much the salesman says it, are not meant as proper gaming rigs.

Second; make sure that your computer is actually USING the dedicated video card, and not the onboard chipset on the motherboard. Disable the chipset and make sure that the card is enabled. Since you don't say what OS it's on (I'm assuming w10) look up how to do that.

Also since you don't indicate whether any of your drivers are updated, or the OS itself, tht would be a nice thing to know for future troubleshooting efforts. Go to the top of your Steam library window and click HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION, and paste the *ENTIRE* list here. Not curtailed, not guesses, the whole thing please.

Have you made sure that those games are able to run on your OS? Is it 32 or 64b? (I don't know whether 10 comes that way, but... always need to check.)

Did the games in question EVER run properly? Did something change or update between then and now? Or are these the first times you're trying to run the games on that EXACT machine?

it's a 64 bit OS and I've had no issues with any performance issues until a couple days ago. I'm pretty sure there was a windows update when i shut down my laptop one time, but there were no game updates. I am on windows10. Also, in device manager, the only thing under display adapters is the rtx2080
You need to reinstall your GPU drivers. Do it with DDU in safe mode.

^^ Yup. Also see how it says 'two' video cards? Make SURE that the one on your motherboard is OFF.
