Accidentally used vpn to activate global key
Hi, I got a global key and I activated it, forgetting I had my vpn on. It says (NA) on the back of the name of the game and I'm not at North America. Would I get banned or is it ok because it was a global key anyways?

As long as you didn't change your market region while on the VPN to purchase games in different currencies you're fine.

Yes I didn't use my vpn to bypass any regional problems. I was just worried it said NA and that might get me in trouble. Thanks for the reply

If the key is global, the game having NA on the back doesn't make any sense since the key should allow anyone to activate it and not just North America.

That's why I'm worried. I had a United States vpn on when I activated and I think maybe that's the reason.

What’s done is done. The time to be concerned is before using a vpn. What is being worried now going to accomplish?

Just using a VPN to mask your country of origin is grounds for a ban. Steam probably understands people make mistakes though. I wouldn't worry unless you make a habit of it.

I'm gonna be sure not to do this from now on. If steam bans me, I guess I'll just have to explain my situation and hope for the best.
