Got scammed out of TF2 items.
To prelude this, I haven't done much trading in TF2 for several years.

I was sent a friend request from an account named Darth Chicken Gaming (i now know that his account was an impostor). This impostor account was set up to look exactly like DCG's actual account, with high level friends, hi rep in comments, and even lots of high valued items in his inventory. The Backpack.tf and rep links in his profile led to the real DCG's account.

He sent me a message today asking to trade, figured it was for TF2 items as i had a couple that were kind of high value. We talk it over in Steam chat, sends me offers from 'his' backpack, and we agree on a deal. He said he deals with selling items for a higher profit, this doesnt bother me since i have no interest in that, was just looking for a neat hat since i don't play much anyway. He tells me he wants me to check if the items are marketable on OpSkins, so he has me post them on there, at high valued private listings so he can check. Now i've never used OpSkins, so it was alien to me, though i've used backpack.tf several times. He adds me on Discord to screen share and run me through how to do it. Explains that a OpSkins bot will send me a trade on Steam for posting, whch doesnt seem too odd to me at the time, as i've seen it before Ii realize now how dumb it is and know i'm a total moron now, but it's early in the morning when this all happened and i wasn't thinking straight). I recieve a trade from a bot. Stupid me didn't check out their profile before hand. I accept. Guys says the listing are posted, i believe him because I see them as posted myself, webpage didnt refresh correctly I assume. Says to send them a ticket to withdraw my listings and that i'll recieve my listed items back, but the bot will send another trade with several items in it that won't be accepted on the bot's end, it was only sent as a precautionary to confirm it was me. I stupidly believe and he said the trade will come through with the items in a minute.

Them he sad he was going to restart his computer. I was blocked by his impostor DCG account, blocked and removed on Discord, and the 'bot' had changed his name back to what it initially was. My items were gone, and i realized i was scammed.

I know not much can be done, if anything. Just wanted to know what can be done? I reported the fake bot account and the impostor account. I know Steam used to be able to reverse trades at one point in time, but by reading the policy now, I see that's not the case.

You can report the user, and familiarize yourself with the FAQs.

That's about all you can do though.

Nothing. Just the usual report and a future lesson.
