PDP controller wont work in Bethesda games and GTAV

Hey, guys. My pdp controller will not work in any bethesda game even though its detected, and my keyboard will not work either as backup. SSE will let me use my arrow keys to navigate the home screen, but r-enter will not work, so i use l-enter. The controller seems to work in games like Far Cry 4, The Withcer 3, etc. though, so i am stumped as to what could be the problem.
(I have steam controller varient enabled, if that helps with anything?)
Help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Working: Far Cry 4, The Withcher 3, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II

Change the driver manually to the Microsoft Xbox One Controller from your driver list already in Windows; the one with the oldest date-stamp.

Disable / Un-Tick all the Controller boxes in Steam > Big Picture Mode, except for "Generic" then relaunch Steam Client

Driver date is 9/28/17, which is when i got the controller. Cannot roll bacl driver, either. One second on last part.

Thanks! That worked! It never occured to me because its supposed to be a "verified Microsoft controller for Windows 10 and XBox One."
