bundle discounts

hi,
so i see that there is a bundle for the xcom:enemy unknow and all of the dlc. i also saw that steam is now giveing discounts if you already own parts of the bundle. i already have the main game and wanted to get the dlc but when i try to purchase the bundle it seems i am still playing for the game as well.

as there is no human steam support i guess i am left to asking on here

how do i go about getting those sweet bundle deals and not double buying a game?

There are 2 types of bundles, one gives you a discount depending on how many items you already own and one doesn't. The publishers get to choose which one they want to use.

That depends on the publisher of the game. Has nothing to do with Steam. Some publishers use bundles that are tailored to the buyer and take into consideration games you already own from it.
But not all. The Xcom bundle is not tailored like that so you have to always pay the full price, even if you already own parts of it.
