If anything, at least the new ID works too. So there's really no penalty whatsoever.

Maybe the old URL would start functioning properly should another profile overtake that ID.

It's not possible to change SteamID.
I mean, the Steam URL ID.
Yes, the numbers are going to be there no matter what, as it is a default non-changing ID. Anyone will be able to access your profile, even when you changed the custom one.
I'm okay with that, already know that profile thing.
I just wanted to know why my old URL ID redirections to my profile, I'm not using it anymore, I didn't happened before too.

Is the old one a string of numbers or a custom one? If it is a string of numbers, that's your ID64 and it's your account's unique id number.
What is the old one and what is the new one?
id/Parallelisme < New one.
/id/notthatironic < Old one.

Try it and you will see.

I already know that, I feel like you guys aren't getting what I try to say lol.
I mean the custom one, the ID you can edit from profile settings.

I've set a new custom ID few days ago, but my old custom ID keeps redirecting to my profile.

Any changes you make will always redirect back to your profile.

Oooh, never knew that, I used to have another custom ID months ago and changed it for the notthatironic one, that made the old ID unavalible.
That's.. interesting.

http://steamcommunity.com/id/notthatironic/?xml=1
<customURL>Parallelisme</customURL>

I tried changing mine to TeutepTest but that still results to dysfunctional link when I transferred back to Teutep. http://steamcommunity.com/id/TeutepTest

Well, at least I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this singular problem lol
Well, I actually said that I can't reproduce that issue, although mine could be because my alternate URL was up for a total of 10 seconds whereas yours was up for much longer time period most likely.

Although, I can see that both your custom IDs link to the same profile.
I would just assume that some cache hasn't updated. Since you're not paying for these custom URLs -- don't worry. it will probably disappear at some point, and even if it does not -- what's the problem?

That did it.

I changed my id to notthatironic and back to Teutep.

Now it results in error,
http://steamcommunity.com/id/notthatironic
Sorry!
An error was encountered while processing your request:
The specified profile could not be found.
Here's a link to the Steam Community home page.

The XML will still redirect to OP's info, but that'll probably just go away in time.
