Videos/trailers don’t buffer in full screen
Whenever I’m looking at games/dlc or w/e, if I watch one of the videos or trailers on the games store page the whole video loads at good, normal smooth speed. Conversely, if I dare to put it in full screen the video come to a screeching halt, loses all of the data it’s already buffered, and will only buffer 1 second ever 10-15 seconds if I’m lucky.

This has been happening for atleast a year (probably 2). My steam client is fully updated.

Is this a known issue? Does anybody know of a remedy for this?

*Edit: This also happens when using Steam in a browser.

What if you go to Steam in your web browser, does it all work properly then?

Ok, then it's not Steam (the client) that's the problem, it's either the website, your connection or your PC.

Try another PC if you can, you could also try another connection by sharing your phones connection to a laptop or going to a friends house.

Speaking of other websites, how does other video sites work?

I just tried a different computer (on a browser), and it did the same thing. I can stream shows/movies in HD, I can't go try at somebody elses house atm, and I'm not sure how to connect my phones internet to my computer like you mentioned.

That means the problem is somewhere between your PC's and Steams servers.

Here is a direct link to the HD version of a trailer, it's one I get when I fullscreen a video: http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/256703823/movie_max.webm

What if you watch a video in fullscreen and right click it and click the "copy video location/address", could you paste a link like that in here?

There are lots of different networks that deliver videos like this. Maybe you have a problem with one of them.

When I clicked on your link i could get abough halfway through before it had to constantly stop and buffer, I tried copying and pasting the link that I got from the Steam XCOM video, it did the same thing, and took me to the same place as what you posted, again I could get about halfway through

But if I watch it through steam, the very place I got the link, it's constantly buffering from the very start, which seems illogical: http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/82073/movie_max.webm?t=1447356787

I think I know what the problem is; I just don’t know how to fix it. When you change to full screen it changes the video quality so you lose the buffering. YouTube used to do that to me until I changed some settings. I have this same problem but I don’t know how to tell it to keep the same quality settings. For example you load it at 720P, but it drops to 480 when in full screen.
