My gift is still pending:
Hi,
I bought a game for my friend in the steam sales "left 4 dead2 " to be more precise , and i've sent it to him as a gift, the money has been taken away from my account but the transaction is still pending ? i've read in steam community that the pending status means that something went wrong , but my money has been taken away ? is there any way to fix this issue ?

Actually pending does NOT mean your money is taken away.

YES in a simple way it seems taken away but it is not.

When funds are pending your bank/creditcard/paypal has only put the funds "On hold", but the funds actually are NOT gone from your account (altho your bank/credit card company/payplay/whatever certainly makes it *look* like the money is already gone. But it really isn't.

It is simplier for banks/creditcard companies/paypal to make it *look* like the funds are gone right away (for people like you and me), just because it's simplier for common people to understand.

But, pending money is still technically in your account and hasn't yet been removed yet. It's just "on hold" (which means your bank/creditcard company/paypal/whatever is keeping the funds "reserved" for Steam - or whatever other merchant you have money "pending" towards).

~
Anyways... if pending turns into a failed transaction, your bank/credit card company/paypal will eventually "release" the Hold on your money and it will appear to be returned to you.

Not necessarily something went wrong, it depends on your payment method, probably just takes longer to process.

thank you for your answer ,

he did get a dlc without the game , so he had to buy the game in order to play the dlc , but in my cas i got a brand new game and no dlc .

For the part when :

Pending means Valve hasn't got the money yet.
It can turn into;
1. Sucessful - You get the game/wallet money
2. Failed - You don't get the game/wallet money and your money is on hold, your payment processor will return it to you within the next few business days.

i have just bought a game before buying this one and this is what disturbs me a lot

Well you could call your bank and ask if there is something unusual about that transaction but I'd just wait.
