Im afraid it's something very serious, like someone spying on my computer. Im very afraid so I would love any help.

Sounds like you're trying to login to a fake Steam Client with your real credentials and now someone has your login name and password. You need to remove the fake client, run a full anti-virus and anti-malware scan immediately and once your device is 100% clean; change ALL online account passwords you have and try and recover lock/recover your Steam account.

how do I lock and recover my steam account? I don't know too much about computer stuff and im running a full scan right now. It's been 6 hours and the scan is almost done. Also, how do I remove the fake client if there is one? How do I KNOW if it's a fake client?
and do you know any free anti-maleware thingy I could use?

It's an old scam where malware replaces the real Steam client with a fake one and users unwittingly attempt to login which gives the scammers your login details and the fake client pretends to 'crash' as it's not real. I'm not sure if it is this but it's possible especially if Steam is crashing as you are logging in.

If you are protected by email or mobile guard and your devices aren't compromised; your account is secure for you to at least de-authorise all other devices in your Steam settings. In situations like these; it's best to cover all possibilities.

Now I recently changed my steam font to comic sans (I know, pretty stupid.) But I was wondering if this could have anything to do with it? if the client was fake, would it use the original steam font? Would it copy the font I would be using?

OH MY ****ING GOD. I deleted the comic sans font and it hasn't crashed yet. Still worried about the whole "someone logging into my account" thing though. At least I can play games now... I think.
