I can't earn card drops - (Unrestricted account, Lv 5, games with card drops available)

Hey, for some weird reason I can't earn trading cards. I had a restricted account until last week as I'd always had games gifted to me, but I've not bought games and added funds to my wallet so it's now an unrestricted account, it's also at Lv 5 and I have a lot of games with card drops available so I'm confused.
I know I still have to wait 30 days before using the marketplace, but it doesn't say anything about trading cards. Any help would be great, thanks.

Anyhow, as far as your profile goes, you haven't played a game since November, when you were still restricted. Maybe try to run one for half an hour and check, if you get something.

([Edit: Forget about this part, just saw, you need level 8 for these]And did you try to get Event cards yet? Voting for a game and going through your discovery list should earn you some normally.)


[Edit:] Okay, your account is showing two games, that have card drops and that you have already played for a significant time. So by all means, you should have gotten cards for those. Very strange.

Did you add the funds after or before you played those games? Killer is Dead was last played more than a month ago EDIT After.

Wait, what! You're right I just checked my profile and it says I haven't played a game in weeks, but I played Bloop Reloaded for 2 hours last night. How weird.
Thanks for pointing that out, I'll try logging out and back in to see if that does the trick, and I'll try the Events cards, thanks for that advice too.
Oh and yes, I couldn't get card drops previously so I asked on a very friendly card trading site and the mods informed me that restricted accounts cannot receive card drops.

I shall return with an update.

OK, so it seems that Steam is very buggy right now. I just tried to voted on the Steam awards to see if I would receive a trading card, but I got a popup saying; "Sorry, you cannot vote until your profile is lv8 then you will receive 1 trading card each time you vote." BUT.... I received 2 trading cards for it, haha. Weird!

So I tried logging out and back in, started a game and bingo, now playing a game registers on my profile so maybe now I will get my card drops.
Steam is acting weird, must be the sale and award thingy. I've played 4 or 5 games over the past week for multiple hours, yet none of it has registered on my profile. *Hears X-Files theme playing

So, I've just played a game that has card drops available for 3 hours and still zero cards have dropped. Therefore it seems that you cannot receive card drops from games until your account was been unrestricted for more than 30 days.

It would really be nice and also helpful if Steam would make this clear or even supply this information anywhere at all on their site.

There's no need to wait 30 days, cards drop at random times starting at a minimum playtime set by the developer.
