How come i cant buy games and store them in my steam inventory anymore?

I was hoping to buy some steam games and store them in my inventory so i could trade them to my friends on christmas, but now the option isnt even there anymore. Is there a surefire workaround? Or do i have to buy them on christmas and send them then?

I know i can schedule the gifts but i live in Aus and we dont use CST so if i try to schedule it it could come a day late or early. what do?

Scheduling is the solution. Who cares if you live in CST? Just schedule it to the right moment, dates are worldwide unique. You just need to know the time zone of the recepient. I just bought a gift for a friend abroad and scheduled it to arrive when he comes from work. In a different time zone. Its pretty simple.

As for why its gone, scumbags selling Stram gifts, thats why.
