Can't redeem Steam giftcard
I purchased a steam giftcard at Target several hours ago and I'm still unable to redeem it. Tried everything the help page suggested with no results. It shows up on the receipt too so it shouldn't be a activation problem. Though it did seem to take a really long time to process when they scanned it at the store which I found odd at the time. Anyway I'm pretty frustrated as the store is a bit away from where I live and I won't be able to get back out there to try and return it for some time if this code doesn't end up working. Any suggestions? Is there something steam staff can do about this or will I have to wait until I can go to the store for a return?

This is Quite Concerning to Me Because This is the Second Time This Has Happened to 2 Different Users From a Target Store. :/ Hope it Gets Sorted Out Cause This is Definitely a Store Issue. :/ Best Suggestions are to Buy Steam Wallet Gift Cards From GameStop or Directly Through Steam/ Valve Themselves. The Frustration is Livid.

So I'm not the first huh? Wonder what the deal is. Like I said in my initial post I was suspicious something may be up because of how long it took to process after they scanned it at the register. Something must be wrong with Target's system at some stores. Wonder if it takes them a extremely long time to send the information that it was processed. Maybe the code will work tomorrow. Can't get out there right away anyways so may as well give it a shot again then. Doubt I'll be lucky enough for it to work but we will see I guess. Steam support really can't do anything at all about this kind of thing?
↑ Yep. Keep Trying I Tried to Google if it Takes Time for (Target based Steam wallet gift cards) Activation to Kick in With No Results. Best to Keep Trying Until u Can Get to Target. But I Would Not Expect an Activation to Take No More Than 24 Hours :/

And No., This is a Store Based Issue in Which Steam Support Could Not Help With. But it Could Be a Technical Issue and Activation Delay (which I do suspect). Hope Everything Works Out and if There is a Delay on the Stores Behalf Make Sure to Tell Us so Others Know Wat is Happening. I Personally Hate Things Like This and Wish u the Best. :csdsmile:

Ya., Saturn is Aligned With the Earth and Sun Today and This is a "Bad Luck" Day. Last Time This Has Happened During the Winter Solstice Was in 1664. So I Blame This Bad Luck on That :/

Same problem. Bought five $20 steam cards from a target in Chicago. Cashier scanned each one by one. Each one took like 30 seconds before she scanned the next. As soon as I paid and left I tried adding the first card. Said it was invalid. Tried a few more times - all invalid. Tried the 2nd card - same thing. Double checked the fine print on the receipt and saw it could take 3 hours to activate. Waited an hour, tried the two cards again - same problem. Tried the other 3 and they went through. Now three hours later those two original cards still don't go through.

Will wait till morning to try again. I may have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ something up trying over and over.

I wonder if the "buy one get 25% off the second" thing has anything to do with it

Tried again this morning and my last 2 cards went through.

Either the first two cards I tried out of 5 cards originally took a lot longer to activate after leaving Target OR they locked themselves for the night after I tried to add each one like 15 times in a row...

I was also able to redeem mine finally just now. Seems the problem is a huge processing delay on Target's end.

Same here, i cannot redeem my two cards that i bought from Target. I have never seen had this happen before and it is quite upsetting that it can happen. If these do not activate i will go nuclear on Valve and Target.

This has been an issue for many users. The only thing you can do is to try again later. Everyone I've talked to was able to redeem it after about 12 hours.
