Steam game says running then syncing for a second then doesn't start

I verified game files several times, restarted computer several times, uninstalled the game and reinstalled, exited steam and reopened. halp

My computer exceeds the system requirements for the game, the program from Nvidia to update my drivers doesn't run on Windows 10, my windows install is up to date, verified the game files again, and had no non essential software running (other than my firewall, but ♥♥♥♥ that because my other steam games work). halp

Install the latest driver manually.

PS: The Nvidia program to update drivers runs just fine on Windows 10.

Download the driver from there. Please don't tell me you downloaded something driver-related from anywhere which is NOT the official site.
