Steam asking me to log in to client even though I never logged out, no internet.
I have no internet so I can't even log in. Now I'm locked out of MY GAMES THAT I OWN for no reason. I just got back from surgery so gaming is literally all I can do. Is there a solution to this?

You do still have to go online to tell Steam to go offline. It's one of those idiotic things. If you turn a device off, it logs out automatically, so yes you were certainly logged out if at any time your computer was turned off.

Have you been offline for awhile? You can't stay offline indefinitely eventually Steam will force you to reauthenticate online (from memory after a few months).

If you're without internet on your computer and have a smartphone with internet access. :

if you have a smartphone with internet (3g/4g/5g) , connect your computer to your phone with USB cable or bluetooth and TEMPORARY turn on tethering. That should allow you to login and go 'offline'

If your PC/laptop has wifi, you can also ditch the usb cable and temporary turn on 'mobile hotspot'.

Just be sure to turn OFF tethering after login/offline, unless you have an unlimited data plan for your mobile device.

I've never had to do it before though, except once or twice. If my wifi is down, it just asks me to start steam in offline mode.

Managed to get internet working again though, so not an issue.
