55mb download but only getting 6.1?

I get this problem in every app I use to download games including Epic Games Launcher, Rockstar Launcher, Origin and Uplay and obviously on here, apart from windows store where I get the full download speed. My download limit is set to no limit. Like wtf.

Sounds about accurate. Steam's download speeds are in Megabytes per second (MB/s) while speed tests are in Megabits per second (Mb/s). 6.1MB/s=48.8Mb/s

Same problem, on Rockstar Launcher 5MB/s and on Steam only 1-2MB/s

Sure you are not confusing bits and BYTES?

Steam > Settings > Downloads >>> Display download rates in bits per second

I don't think I am. My old connection was worse only had peak 15mb down and managed to get a max of 7.8 download in steam but now I have a better connection its worse lol.

You still haven't clarified whether you mean 55 megabits or 55 megabytes download. But coincidentally 55 Mb/8 = 6.875 MB and other variables aside 6.1 MB would be good in that case.
