Should I uninstall Geforce Experience?
I've had it for 5 years now and never had an issue installing drivers with it but I keep seeing other posts saying to uninstall it and install your own drivers from the Nvidia website.

I don't really see any degrading in video game performance either but I could be "tech blind".

Fair enough.

You should, it's just as easy installing from Nvidia's website, it can cause issues occasionally.

Most users suggest doing manual installations / reinstallations of drivers when they have become faulty or corrupt.

The process recommended is fully wiping stuff so there is a clean removal so as to prevent future issues.

Otherwise, you can keep Geforce experience, since it does allow for other optimizations and yes, automatic driver updates are worthwhile.

IF you find that you're having issues that seem a bit weird, and uncommon (as in: you don't find a lot of people having them here) uninstall it. If you haven't had any problems, it works fine and dandy, keep it.

I've had no problems really, just that one driver update that borked my mouse on my second monitor making it not show up but that was later fixed with a patch they released on their website. Found that out looking through Reddit. It was the 431.36 update and now any time a new driver wants to update I look what other people experience with that driver and judge for myself if it's worth it or not.

And that's the best strategy anyway.

Other way to see it, if you have a old GPU card that dont have all them fancy new graphic, and you know whats best, then you dont need it, same as on a old Gamer LAPTOP your card dont support it you can actual gain performance by have only core driver installed only.

and its here where pre-shader might be seen as not need then card aient that good anymore.
but that dont mean preshader cache is not working , its more game engine in some area that has high DPS requirement and its here you should get a better performance.
highend pc might want to stick with experience alot faster to hit optimize my games, unless you know better or want more out of game, some game can do that.

the app is seen as helper only or lazy do it for me.

problem is its not about driver/graphic only anymore if you user other functions then uninstall is not a choise. ( until bug is fixed )
I rather not seek drivers manually, who has time for that?

Old gpu card , there is nothing more to update ever. ( other then that, then you are right. way faster to auto adjust all game settings. )

other way to say it why bother with all nvidia driver update then card dont support it, ( this goes both ways )

it actual require you have a old pc that card is to older games only. ( most here will say byebye Nvidia experience. )

Performance eater, uninstall it..
Supafly May 24, 2023 @ 11:17pm
If you need and use it then leave it installed. If you don't and are happy to install drivers yourself uninstall it.

Don't need the latest drivers all the time. Reasons to upgrade are

1. Secuirty fixes
2. Bug fixes.....only if you are experiencing them
3. Tailored for newly released game/s that you actually own
4. New features you want

I've had drivers over 12 months old. Currently using a driver from November

As you see we are many that do this, and exalty as N3tRunn3r & Supafly point out.

and then your GPU card is not Mainstream anymore. then you enter a Nvidia annoying frequent update and waste your time on things your card dont support.

Many are tired of Nvidia all-in-one Driver + experience update in itself. ( try see this per Nvidia model, and we are back at have multi pc then you will see our point on it. ) + whatever pc owner you also help or checkup on then things dont perform as the owner want it.
