Closing Gmod/Garry's mod crashes/freezes steam..anyone know what this is now happening?

a google search gave me zero help

for some reason whenever i close gmod..steam freezes..then crashes and then closes

what could be causing this..and anyone know how to fix i?

i've tried multiple gaemes and thie issue only occurs in GMOD

i'm not in the GMOD beta no, however i'm involved in betas in one other game

He talking about Steam beta, the client, not the game.

Also I had experience this on my older system before, and I believe it's due to how the game was made, as well the mods you put into the game using the memory, which closing the game, starts to use cpu and ram usage for some reason at that point as not sure why it pushes there. You can try asking in the Gmod sub forum, and see if anyone has a better understanding for this reason.

Related to the Steam Client beta - has been happening to me in Project Cars 2.

I will say though, that Steam does NOT appear to be crashing; it appears to be shutting down in an orderly fashion when certain games are exited.
