Programs Which May Interfere with Steam
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289
I created a shortcut on desktop, and i have played for a while without problems. Since yesterday i have major problems starting the game.
Games bought on steam and run through steam *require* steam to BE RUNNING.
So... start Steam. Make sure that your shortcut leads to the correct executable in the folder where your steam game IS.
Why not jump over to the game's forum hub and search first, then ask there.
2) Run Steam as administrator.
3) Check Windows Event Log for further information.
Whose support did you email?
And did you expect a prompt reply? Because first: if you tried asking support here on Steam, they cannot help you with this, it's not their game. Second: companies rarely answer tech support like that. That's why they have hubs here on steam...
Steam offers support for games they create (that is to say: TF2, L4d, Half Life, portal, counterstrike, etc - those games ONLY), for the CLIENT itself - the launch tool to see your library, the chat service itself, and the storefront, and for billing issues to do with your account. NOT anything else.
Again, you didn't say who you contacted on 'the game's forum. The publisher? Who? because you STILL have no posts anywhere but here in this exact thread.
Go find the GAME in your library, bring up its COMMUNITY HUB. Post your situation THERE.
