Preferences for mature content are not filtered, but I keep getting warning screens...
Screens like this keep showing when I view a game with mature content:

Yet my preferences are:

That's normal. Having the boxes checked just allows the games to appear in the store for you.

It's kinda annoying when it's constantly doing that heh. So why does it say at the bottom of the first screenshot that my preferences are configured to warn me when clearly they are not?

The age gate is something Valve does to legally cover their rear end. As they can't verify who is using the account (minor or not), they always show the age gate so they can say: "the user told us he was old enough" in case a minor sees content they shouldn't. Which can be a legal issue especially in the USA.

legality, one of those things I'm always wary towards ;p And especially with online content it's funny how you can get in trouble if you don't have something as silly as an 'age verification'. A warning screen should be enough and if a minor ends up looking? They were warned. Oh but that goes back to how people would sue because they spilt coffee on themselves when they weren't warned it would be hot.
