How to avoid needing admin approval every time I install a new steam game?
At the moment, I don't have admin rights on this PC, but it's incredibly irritating because the only person who does have them hates being asked to do stuff with them. At the moment, whenever I want to run a new steam game, I get a popup asking if I'm ok with the app making changes to the computer, and I have to go find them and get them to enter their password. But, they hate doing that, so rarely agree to do it. Is there any way of bypassing that (like by manually creating folders) or setting it so they have permission by default?

Ask them to give you admin rights?

I wouldn't be in this situation if they were ok with that.

I believe that the PC asks for admin rights is because Steam's default download location is in the C drive where the other programs are located. Try changing the download location to somewhere else that doesn't require admin permissions or create another directory. That should stop Steam from asking it. I can be wrong though as I've never personally tried this before.

There very best way to do this is to make a new non admin user account for your gaming. Do not use the default admin account for anything except updating windows and PC management. But it is too late for that. If you ever get a new PC, keep this advice in mind. You can also make Steam run as an administrator. Search for the instructions for how to do that.

Thanks for the advice, but I know that it currently downloads the game files to the E drive. It doesn't have any issues downloading the game, it's just when I try and run it the first time it says that I need to let it "make changes to the device".

Honestly the worst answer I've read. First, creating a non-admin account for gaming doesn't make you not require admin permissions. Windows will still request for admin permissions from the other admin user account. Second, if OP wants to make Steam run as an administrator, he'll need the password every single time he runs Steam so that literally defeats the purpose.

What game are you trying to run? Some games require admin permissions to run for the first time while others don't.

Thank you for the clarification. The games I had tried to run that directly lead to me posting this were the witness and Q.U.B.E. . For some reasons whenever I run Celeste it asks me to do it, but I say no and it runs anyway.

You could ask the administrator to turn off UAC on your device but that's not a very safe way to use your PC. I wouldn't browse many websites except the big ones.
