OMG- Remove games from old account to another?
Steam has the poorest support.
Anyways.
Please if someone can help im frustrated.
I have an old account that i recently found and it has the orange box licensed to it.
I have full access to my old account and my new one but i do not wish to use that one. i have a new account.
I know theres a way to release my CD Key / license and put it on my new account.
thoughts?
Again, i know theres a way, theres always a way.

Games cannot be transferred from one account to another. Keys will never be released to be used again.

There is not. Valve will never allow transferral of license between accounts.

You know wrong then, once a product is licenced to an account, it's permanent. You can delete games from your account, but that doesn't release the CD to be used again.

are you kidding me? but like, i have the key in my hands, and i have both accounts up and running, i can verify anything. but this seems a bit funny because a few months ago i released a license or something when my one friend had the same issue... what is up with Valve????

Use family share so you can play the game in the new account.

They're not ready to start a "Used" digital games market. No one is waiting for that except for some consumers who don't realize we'll just be worse of further down the road.

Family share is where you let one account use the games of another account. You can activate it by signing in on the computer you have your main account on with your other account. Then you enable family sharing on "this computer" and then for your main account. There is no way to actually transfer the games to your main, however this way you could at least play them on your main account. Hope this helped.

That's family view, not family sharing.
Chaos8900 Jan 2, 2017 @ 12:07pm
yeah, view. i put in the pin and nothing is happenning....

Family view doesn't let you share games, it lets you restrict features behind a PIN. You need to enable family sharing using the instructions in the article [PG] Gimff linked above.
