Disabling Steam 'In-Game' or 'In-App' notifications to friends

anyone know how to disable the ingame or in app notifications to friends? i want to know what my friends are playing, but i don't want my friends to know that i'm currently using an app from steam (Mirillis Action!), i have a youtube channel with 400 subscribers (i know it still sucks and trash) but there are some of my subscribers that are in my friend list, and when i open Mirillis Action! they will be like "Hi Frost can i join up in your recording?" or "Frost you recording?"

I don't want to ignore them and i don't want to delete them from my friend list, i just don't want them to know that i am using the app. anyone know how to disable it?

Some software allow run without steam (launch exe in steam folder instead of steam library, or they allow to download client from their site), I dont know about Action. If it doesnt, then you would need switch to OBS Studio.

Or you could do the trick:

go offline, start Action, then start another game, go online. It would show you're playing that game and not Action.

If I was recoring I would just set steam to offline so no notifications appear in recording (its annoying to see in some youtube vids "X is playing game" spam)

wait.. you can play games while Steam in Offline mode? everytime i play cs:go it won't let me play multiplayer/online, the same goes to GTA V it keeps saying that it failed to verify activation code and Social Club is running in offline mode

Right click on steam in tray and offline. It's not the same as "Go offline" from steam, its fake one. And you can immediatelly set it to online. It's just to hide from friends that you launched Action.
