Looking for really chill games, preferably with really nice graphics and controller support
Hi guys,

Unusual request maybe-I am disabled and bedbound, and can only use a controller to play games at the moment (before everyone boards the 'mouse and keyboard rulez' train).

Also because of my condition I can only really play chill games now that dont require much thought or stress.

Some games which have fitted this recently are Firewatch, ABZU for sure, and maybe Ark on singleplayer but its a bit involved, though awesome. The Forest again, but on veganmode :D

Stuff like TLD while good are too stressful.

So I guess meditative type games. And as a lover of PC hardware if it looks good that would be a bonus.

Must have controller support.

Bit of a tough task I know but putting it out there. Would love to and have games like BF1 but they make my condition worse.

Thanks

I would say you best bet is to look at games which have also been released on consoles as they tend to have good controller support.

Here's some I would recommend;

http://store.steampowered.com/app/26800/

http://store.steampowered.com/app/204240/

http://store.steampowered.com/app/304430/

http://store.steampowered.com/app/48000/

The above can mostly be played at a resonable pace but also offer a challenge at times with timing and get your brain working

http://store.steampowered.com/app/205100/

Dishonored can be played in complete stealth so you can take your time but if you want to go loud and ramp up the action, you have that choice plus it's a great story.

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/1481/

Peggle is great for just wasting time. You can take all the time in the world for each move. It's a simple game while challenging at the same time.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/400/

http://store.steampowered.com/app/620/

The portal games sometimes give you time to think while do sometimes require some fast actions to get through the level. Although I think it's just plain rude not to own these :p

http://store.steampowered.com/app/255390/

Max does require some quick actions at times while also giving you time to think and learn the mechanics plus it is a nice story.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/33229/

http://store.steampowered.com/app/235600/

The splinter cell series are stealth games. You have time to think about what you need to do but they do also have moments where you need to be quick.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/258520/

A nice walking simulator which doesn't hold your hand at all and makes you work everything out.

Thanks. Some of these are out for me but Vanishing of Ethan Carter-is it jumpy/horror at all?

Same with Dear Esther-anyone know if thats remotely jumpy?

Thx

Shelter 2 looks a possibility-any thoughts?

Thanks for finding that-exactly the kinda thing. Reviews look a bit dodgy but will check it out. Again thanks-appreciate it.

Ah...requires VR. Nvm. Good pick though, and it has controller support.

The snowy environment remembered me The Long Dark a lot. Although perhaps there's a way to play it in 2D

If you have a Samsung phone, you should check out the GearVR. It's only like 90 bucks and it's basically an Occulus Jr. It's actually made by Occulus.

If you don't, there are a wide variety of quality Google Cardboard headsets, compatible with a wide variety of iPhones and Androids. And they have a massive library of applications. You may need to do a little research on a decent headset.

My personal favorite (for the GearVR, also available for Cardboard) is Netflix. It makes your TV like the size of a massive wall and you can watch it sitting down or laying down and looking up at the screen. It's like your own personal movie theater.

I'd recommend Forza Horizon 3 if you're on windows, you can get it from the windows store.
AMAZING Graphics with good racing and an open world.

Again, a racing game doesn't seem to be precisely relaxing and chilling

Life is Strange is one i'd reccomend, also the first ep is free as someone else said

Sorry to hear you're laid up. Hope you get well soon. :)

Something from a different angle: how about a turn based sports game? I don't know how long you're likely to be laid up for, but it does go on special regularly. The older versions are cheaper and still usable, but not as good with the graphics.

Also, this is a hoot. Basically, a narrated first person exploration game. It's short, but a lot of fun and getting the achievements are an adventure of their own.

If I were to buy Blood Bowl I'd buy Blood Bowl Chaos Edition (I'm not sure if it has more or different content than the Legendary Edition, which is the one I own)

But definitively, I wouldn't buy Blood Bowl 2 yet. Perhaps the UI is not a mess like in Blood Bowl 1, but Cyanide usually resells the same game, to the same customers with just a bit of additional content to justify the new version. For instance, I had Blood Bowl 1, and had to buy the Legendary Edition to be able to play online. So yeah, their marketing strategy is abusive.

I'd recommend Civilization V. I find it very relaxing.
Sir Prometeus 2017 年 1 月 3 日 下午 6:23
Mm, ok, wait a second. Blood Bowl 1 isn't compatible with a controller. So yeah, you can only buy the second and hope for the best.

that is the game you are looking for
lets you really escape into another world
