Help Xpadder , Windows 10 , and Steam [ SOLVED ]

I have been using steam + xpadder + windows 7 to play games for long time so this setup works.

I just done a clean install with windows 10 updated all drivers etc.

summary of issue: Its like steam is blocking xpadder input.


xpadder lets you map keyboard and mouse to buttons on the controller.

Steam works, games work, xpadder works with non steam stuff.

The Issue's:
steam games will not recognize the input from xpadder.
Steam does not recognize the input from xpadder.

What happens: I can move my mouse, type in mapped keyboard letters in word, chrome non steam games. as soon as I click on a menu at the top of the steam at with my mouse not the controller its like the controller is no longer mapped. If i click out of steam to another app with my mouse the controller works again. Its like steam is blocking xpadder input.

I have my controller mapped to use the mouse too. if steam is open i can move my mouse into the steam window but it will not respond to my mapped clicks. like i said if i click in steam the controller wont move mouse. use mouse to click out of steam controller works again to move mouse.

This was not a issue before in win7. can anyone help.

I just wanted to update that this problem is solved after about 8 hrs of trying. Someone in another thread said to run Xpadder as Administrator BEFORE Steam is open. I guess when I tried that before, part of Steam was still lingering open.

So simple solution to anyone wanting to use a controller, just run Xpadder in administrator mode and it should work.
