Cloth physics in games are stiff, help please.
So I just built a new PC and the performance on every game is awesome with the 1060 I used. However I've noticed the cloth effects for games such as Overwatch, Assassin's creed, and Shadow of Mordor aren't working properly. Clothing such as capes or coats seem to be stiff. that isn't how it should be.

Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix this?

Bump

This would possibly be a game specific issue for each game.

For AC: Syndicate, I can tell you that the capes were locked at 30fps and that's why it looks weird when playing the game above 30fps. But there is a workaround for this from a patch that allowed users to modify the capes 30fps lock in the .ini. Check the game forum for exactly what to do (or I'll try and post back exactly how if I have the time).

As for the other games you mentioned, it might be a similar reason but you'll have to search each individual games forum or ask in each to see if there is a workaround like for Syndicate or not.

Thank you for the reply. I'll look into Nvidia PhysX among other things and see if I can change anything. I also neglected to mention the assassin's creed game I'm having physics problems with is Assassin's creed Unity

So about Syndicate, apparently there might have been a patch which removed the need to change the .ini manually (I haven't played it since around release). But for the capes to be unlocked, in this file path: Documents > Assassin's Creed Syndicate > AC.ini , make sure that this line is under [Options] just like this:

FlexibleMotionSimulationFPS=1

If it's not there, add it. Edit; add it and save the .ini

Thank you, I will try that.

I'm still seeing problems with overwatch, as an example the coat for Ana's skin: Captain amari, remains stiff and almost unmoving.

The same goes for shadow of mordor, his cape just doesn't move naturally

Yes, I've been playing witcher 3 and batman arkham knight and the cloth physics work amazing. I think this is a game specific issue
