FM 2012 steam editor virus direct from steam engine.

I have downloaded fm editor from steam and a Dropper Rozana virus that stops the use of the editor.exe from being used rendering the editor useless. I have tried all advice from the web and nothing works, AVG deleted the infected file every time I tried to play after 3 tries I downloaded it direct. I use the editor to put myself and kids in the game for fun. Is there anyone who knows a fix as steam support are no help if any. How did they get infected? Is there anywhere else to download the editor free of viruses?Please help.

Oi, there are no viruses on Steam. Everything that is downloadable is being checked and scanned by the finest softwares before it's put online. Your antivirus is interfering with the program so best thing to do would be to put the application in the safe/exception/trusted list in your Antivirus. I myself don't use AVG but a quick google search is gonna be enough information that you need to know about putting a program in your AVG trusted list of programs.

A better solution would be to stop using AVG at all as it regularly generates more than its fair share of false positives - I saw a case earlier this year where a user found it was incorrectly flagging every single Steam game he had as being infected. If you've got the cash to hand then uninstall that hunk of junk and buy a Kaspersky security package instead.

Yes that is a better solution indeed, I was going to mention that the false positives were the main reason why I stopped using AVG, didn't wanna be too rough tho.
