Possible Fix for "Unable to Initialize SteamAPI" Error Message After Launching Game

I got the error message described in the title after trying to launch God Eater Resurrection one day. After looking up the error, it seemed that people received this suddenly and had to reinstall Steam in order to launch their game. I do not believe that that was necessary. This is what I did to fix the error.

I launched God Eater Resurrection shortly after my PC booted up, but it was still warming up, so the game was very laggy. I used Alt-F4 to quit the game, since quitting from the title was not an option (too laggy). After my PC started running well, I launched the game again. This was when I received the error. To fix it, I simply exited completely out of Steam. I had to quit from the taskbar (Windows 7: from the icons in the bottom right of the screen, right-click the Steam one and select Exit). Then I simply launched Steam and the game again and it worked.

I think the error is often caused from force quitting games, but it could also probably be caused from other various things. I hope that some people will find this helpful and will not need to reinstall Steam like some other posts tell you to do.
