Getting low FPS on Lenovo IdeaPad 510.

I've bought my laptop a month ago for 750$. I was hooked by its design. Nevertheless, its specs were actually pretty great for that price. First of all, some of you may find that 700$ is a lot for this laptop, but it is actually the prices in my country that are such high .

Okay, here is the problem.
I installed skyrim on my laptop.Vanilla skyrim, without modes.The system detected that I can run the game on high setting, so I did choose the high settings.
However, I was shocked by how much FPS drops that are occuring at a time.I switched the graphics to medium , then to low. I barely got any improvement.

Same thing occured with Dota 2. I am using low settings and i get like 30 fps.Various FPS drops during gameplay.

Anyone knows what is the problem? or is it just the fault of my pc?

Just to clarify.

I bought this laptop because a desktop won't suit my situation.

Furthermore, I don't really care that much about the graphics.However, I still want to have a decent FPS without any lag, even on low setting.

Unless you bought one with the Nvidia 940MX it is barely capable of playing games.

Go into Nvidia control panel and set it to always use the 940MX on those games. You may also need to set your power savings to high performance. And keep the laptop plugged in while playing games.

hey mate. sadly, No.
I tried everything but nothing seems to work.
When I first bought my laptop it was really great, but it's trash now. and it's only 1 year old.

Anyway, just set everything to low and hope it works.

Could it be that the laptop is just trash or has some problems?
It was relativley new to the market when i bought it.
I wish I had built a decent PC instead.

I have no idea its so annoying as it has really good specs but it just seems to run games trash.
Its like it was badly designed or something.
