Downvotes on reviews
Hello

Is it normal to get nothing but downvotes if you put out a review?
I just wanted to support DOOM by giving it a thumbs up and "Enjoyed it" comment.
Basicly all my reviews get thumbed down.

Is it necesarry to write a "real" review? Or are those just kids having having lots of nerd rage and downvoting all reviews that contradict their own opinion?

Why is Steam asking its users to give a review (albeit short) if 90% of people never agree with it?

I think it's a bit stupid - I want to give my vote to a game and other people don't have to have their say in it.

I would suggest that reviews only have a "like" button, so the big and nicely written reviews still are more visible in the end.

users are allowed to downvote reviews if they want, if they disagree or had a negative experience themselves, it's their opinion and always subjective on both sides.
having only a like button would make the review system useless.
"Enjoyed it" is not informative or helpful review. People rate down unhelpful reviews. It's not even review and more like twitter post.
You should weire pros and cons of game and why you liked it to help them decide buy game or not.

People may find your reviews more useful if you start typing more than one to two words in them.

OP as you can see from the comments that some people have a rather stuffy opinion of what a review should or should not be. Generally speaking. Enjoyed it, can be enough and you shouldn't worry about the downvotes..
