Anti-Virus removed Game exe file, can't download update anymore
Hello.

couple minutes ago i tried to update RocketLeague when my AntiVirus told me that the .exe file in the download folder would be infected and restricted me from accessing it anymore. Right after that Steam quit the download and returned an Hard drive error.

Since then i tried to fix the issue and added an Exception for the SteamApps folder and removed the file from quarantine. After that i tried to continue the download which again resulted in the hard drive error.

Next step I had deleted the folder of the game in my SteamApps/downloading folder and tried again to download the update - Hard drive error.

The Update already had re-created the folder in my downloading directory so I, again, deleted it and restarted steam. After trying to download i again got the hard drive error pointing to the "potentially malicious .exe" of Rocket League.

Last thing i tried was to remove the folder, verify game files(which probably was pointless because to my knowleadge that only checks the common folder files) and tried to redownload the file which, you guessed it, resulted in the hard drive error pointing to ../252950/Binaries/Win32/RocketLeague.exe

I don't know what to do anymore so I'm very thankful for anyone that could possibly help me.
The last thing i want to do is redownloading the game because downloading 5Gb with 250kb/s does hurt a bit.

EDIT:

Misspelled the error, in english it's an Disk Write Error.

In the game library, try right click -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache. That should be able to update/replace any missing files.

Other than that you might want to post on the Rocket League pages about the anti-virus problem, and then consider if you want to risk it and whitelist that .exe in your anti-virus
