You will not get money for a gift purchased for you. The refund wil go back to your friend.

Depends on how he purchased the gift in the first place.
If he purchased using steam balance it will be added to his steam balance.
If he purchased it using his card or paypal, he can choose how the money is refunded either to his steam account, bank acc or paypal.. (As far as i'm aware)

The money is always paid back in full amount which the game was purchased for as long as the game was purchased within the last 14 days & has under 2 hours play time on it.
Anything over this & the refund will most likely be denied.

You probably shouldn't jump to conclusions. OP said nothing of the kind, he simply asked if he needs to uninstall the game before his friend asked for a refund which is a perfectly logical question.
