Anyone else care about nosgoth anymore?

I was watching the co optional podcast recently and they brought up nosgoth at one point and the wounds opened up once again for me. I really enjoyed that game and was just curious if anyone else still remebers it or would have any interest in playing it again if it re-released?

I get that, but games can come back. Look at hawken. Just seeing if there is anyone who would still play it. Not trying to rub salt in your wounds. Plus if people just let it die there is pretty much 0% chance it will ever be brought back.

Hawken is a game everyone heard about atleast once.
I played nosgoth a few hours on release, and never heard of it again untill the announcement that it will be shut down.

Just using Hawken as an example since it's one of the only ones I can think of. That being said I agree with you in that the people responsible for Nosgoth did a poor job with the PR for the game among other things, but the game itself was good. The point I'm getting at is in the right hands the game could do well, and would be worth revisiting.

It could have done well, yes. And i dont think you are flaming me. Whe are having a normal conversation here. :)

Though in my opinion, The Time for Nosgoth is over. The Market is moving on and revisiting the game probably wont make it better next time.

It's hard to convey tone through text without expositon so i'm glad you feel the same. No saltyness. :)

I suppose you are right though since this is probably the first conversation people have had about the game in a while. Maybe a spiritual successor will come along then. I just haven't really found anything like it, and being someone who put 100's of hours into it. I would like to see something to fill that niche. I guess the problem with a spiritual successor would be that I think the majority of people (not including me mind you.) who got into Nosgoth did so because they like the legacy of kain so idk how that would work out either. Not that I don't like the legacy of kain. I've just never played any of the games.

Agreed. They did a poor job advertising the game, and for what ever reason had cash prize tournaments for the game regardless of the small player base and lack of exposure. When you would think it would be common sense to get people playing before you try building an esports scene for the game. Also the league matches were pretty dumb since whoever played the most matches ended up on top. Rather then trying to account for actual skill. Progression system also sucked since it was pretty much just minor stat veried versions of the basic abilities/weapons. If those issues had been resolved then the game probably would have made it. I guess I'm just going in circles at this point though.

Yeah, at this point there isnt much else to say. In the end, my personal thought is that it wont come back. Because of all the reasons above.

I do have the Vertern's Pack for it.

Did I have pay for it?

If so, how much was the going rate for it since I missed out on any type of refund for it (which is my fault for possibly not paying attention)???

I think the vet pack was around $30. While I wish you the best of luck I highly doubt you will get a refund. Psyonix and Square Enix have long since shut down the servers and burried the game.The store page as well as any community pages have been removed from steam. Also the official forums for the game have been shut down as well. Luckly I got the game via a beta key bundled in with a bunch of games during a winter sale long ago. So it was practically free. I also put a ton of hours into it so I unlocked everything for free with in game stuff.

You should be able to go through your purchase history and see how much you payed for it, because I could be wrong about the price. Especially if you got it in a bundle and not by itself.
