Xbox one controller dont turn on when connected to pc

I have windows 7 ultimate and when i connect my controller to my pc but it dont turn on. i have installed the driver but it only says code 37 problem. pls help meeee

Xbox one controllers need the wireless dongle to work, unless you got the pc version?

Check the site. Wired version is unsupported on win7. (that does sound odd tbh)

amazon sales page says it does work with win7.

Try reinstalling the drivers, this for sure is a windows issue not a steam client issue.
