A slow disk won't cause your games to
Crash

Are u sure? Because the guys that sent me the pc said that it is possible, and the games that i have on ssd run fine

Anyone can explain me if the hard disk slow in read can cause chrashes? Thanks

Yes. It is possible. However your disk should be really slow then.

Your HDD sends the data the game needs. If sending the data takes long your game will lagg. if your hdd for some reason doesn't send data (or not fast enough) the game will freeze and crash later on.

So indeed a HDD can crash a game.

Oh, in case you don't know. HDD means Hard Disk Drive.

Again it will not

It will cause

1) game to load slowly
2) a game that streams assets to you will hitch as it frantically tries to load data

The game will not crash

If your drive is faulty then yes that will cause those issues

Your drive is slow but not outside the limits of a hard drive. Not sure what shop you bought it from but stop going there because the people done know wtf they are talking about

It can be a failing HDD am I right?
Or maybe it is a failing SATA cable or even worse your motherboard.

Thanks for your answers, i've asked because two games on my ssd (overwatch and far cry) never crashed (i have this pc form 2 months now), while games on my ssd such as warframe, gta V, etc.. had this problem, so i was i little bit worried. I have checked ram, mobo, gpu and all is ok so i suspected was the hdd, but i didn't know that it may cause problems. I've changed it just a few hours ago, so i have to test it but with crystaldiskmark it dipslays good speed in write and read. Thanks for your answers again :)

Can confirm HDD caused one of my games, Planet Zoo, to crash whereas an SSD runs it fine. This was tested on multiple HDDs and with texture resolution settings set to high.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
