Problems adding a non-steam game to my library; Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
Hello everyone,

After buying the Elder Scrolls III, IV, and V, I decided it would be logical to complete my collection and get the Elder Scrolls II (I have not gotten ES1: Arena yet).

Recently, I went to UESP.net (The unofficial elder scrolls pages) and went to Daggerfall > Downloads > Files > and downloaded DaggerfallSetup.exe. Essentially, this is supposed to put everything I need to run Daggerfall (including patches and unofficial patches) into one, simple shortcut. This worked, and all I had to do was double click the desktop shortcut and bam, I'm playing Daggerfall.

However, I want all my Elder Scrolls games neatly placed in my Steam library. I have tried adding the shortcut as a non-steam game, but the file simply does not appear when I browse games to add to my library. I'm fairly positive this has something to do with the fact that the icon I use to launch Daggerfall is a shortcut, and not a .exe file, however, I can't add the .exe file to run Daggerfall, because as far as I know, there isn't /one/. Instead, there are multiple .exe files, and an emulator, that all run together to launch Daggerfall, and the shortcut is launching them simultaniously to make it easy(I'm pretty sure).

This is obviously a problem, because there is no /singular/ .exe file that I can add as a non-steam game, because if I launch one of the .exe files from the folder, it doesn't work, since the game itself is running with an emulator. If any of you know a way that I can add this shortcut as a non-steam game, (because the shortcut is the one that is launching Daggerfall and all the programs/emulator needed) or have a way that I can add the programs needed to Steam so that I can run Daggerfall from my Steam library, that would be great.

Thank you

Add Daggerfall as a non-steam game as normal.
Right click on the desktop shortcut for Daggerfall and select Properties. You'll want to copy the Target field. Presumably it'll be something along the lines of
"C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Daggerfall\DosBox.exe" -conf dosbox.conf -conf DosBoxDaggerfall.conf -noconsole -c -exit

Go to the Steam client and right click on the Daggerfall listing and select Properties. Paste the target field from the desktop shortcut into the target field of the Steam properties.

Thanks a ton, this worked like a charm, and now I can have all the Elder Scrolls games in one place. I would assume that this same process should work when I decide to download ES1 Arena, so i'm set.
