how to disable PS4 controller support?
hi,
i notice that steam now supports PS4 controllers, wich is very cool, except it makes my games unplayable as the mapping turns out to be horribly wrong (in JustCause3 for example...)

the problem is, i can't for the life of me figure out how to NOT have steam managing my DualShock4, and let DS4Windows handle my DS4 like before,

how can it be done ?

Go into Big Picture Mode's settings and then into the controller settings. The option you're looking for is in there.

i've been there, didn't see any "enable" or "disable" option ....
there is the "xinput controller" button, that actually gives me the ds4windows driver when i click it, but as soon as i get out of the controller menu, the steam driver comes back ..

for some reason i managed to have the thing disabled for now, but i really don't know how :|

It has a Disable PS4 Controller option right in there.
That should disable the DS4 config Steam has added. Your Controller and DS4-Windows should still work though.

Anyone know of a fix for the disable ps4 controller button not working? I've tried to turn off controller support but nothing happens.

You usually will not be able to use Steam Controller along side any other controllers.
If you wish to clear up issues cause you have used Steam Controller plus other types; fully uninstall Steam Controller so Xbox/PS types can work properly again. If you have issues with a Steam Controller do this the other way around, by uninstalling those others you've used before.

And if you have any multiples; unplug them. Only ever connect which actual Controller you will be using for the next game you are about to load up.

Sorry I typed steam by accident, I mean ps4 controller. It's not a problem of multiples though, I just want steam to ignore my ps4 controller. The problem is that there is a menu setting to disable the controller but it is buged out and does nothing.

Then take the time actually uninstall any drivers for the PS4 Controller.
This has been an issue also for those that were using things like Oculus and either switched to Vive, or hooked up a Vive for testing. Sometimes devices like these, when the many drivers for them remain on the system, it can cause such conflicting issues.

Once the PS4 controller is fully uninstalled from the system, go in Steam BMP and delete any Controllers that are showing and go from there.
