there is the "xinput controller" button, that actually gives me the ds4windows driver when i click it, but as soon as i get out of the controller menu, the steam driver comes back ..
for some reason i managed to have the thing disabled for now, but i really don't know how :|
That should disable the DS4 config Steam has added. Your Controller and DS4-Windows should still work though.
If you wish to clear up issues cause you have used Steam Controller plus other types; fully uninstall Steam Controller so Xbox/PS types can work properly again. If you have issues with a Steam Controller do this the other way around, by uninstalling those others you've used before.
And if you have any multiples; unplug them. Only ever connect which actual Controller you will be using for the next game you are about to load up.
Then take the time actually uninstall any drivers for the PS4 Controller.
This has been an issue also for those that were using things like Oculus and either switched to Vive, or hooked up a Vive for testing. Sometimes devices like these, when the many drivers for them remain on the system, it can cause such conflicting issues.
Once the PS4 controller is fully uninstalled from the system, go in Steam BMP and delete any Controllers that are showing and go from there.
