Add a phone number to your steam account

Hey guys, so i was just curious about this feature what exaclty are the benifts of adding my mobile number to the steam account? I do not have a smart phone, just a simple mobile phone that just gets phone calls/sms.

Does anybody use this feature if so could i have some input on it?

Hey thanks for the reply, i use a steam machine/box so i only install "steam games" only.

Adding a number is just to recover a account? No extra features?

Theres no practical way to offer extra features via SMS.

Why should I add a phone number to my Steam account?

Adding a phone to your account gives you more options to recover your account in case you forget your password, or if your account is stolen. You can use SMS messaging to reset your password, or transfer your Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator from one phone to another.
