The law is there for a reason, so that people can try the things they want to buy for a certain amount of time. That if sometimes you are unhappy with some of the things you buy, then can use the law, that is actually my right. I am a abuser of it and also the reason you and others cant have anything nice? WOW, what a way to think. I have returend things yes, but thats because i want things that works :p Air conditioner was to small so i had to buy a bigger one. Dont jump to stupid assumtions about other people you do not know anything about. That will only bite you in your own ass. Why should i feel the need to do more research then i have before, when every game i have bought has been working on steam? I checked if farming simulator was on steam. Then searched up collectors edition, and belive me. I read all the description of the collectors editions before i buy them, as i want to see what it has in it and what feauteres it has. Yes, there we agree, i think the ones responsible for it should have made cd-keys compatible for steam. The issue i got, is that it say no place that it is not or is compitable with steam, and the only other games i have that clearly has this steam mark on it of my games, are arma 3 and footbal manager, thats under 20% of the games i have laying on my desk atm.
Let me repeat what I wrote.

I'm pretty sure they obey Norwegian law.
In short, games where you break the seal and unbox, can only be swapped to a new copy of same product.
Anyway, I'm out, good luck.
They can, but don't have to.
Lets hope they have the goodwill to do so again. I am a good customer so i guess that could be the reason maybe. If htey can exchange my key-code with a steam key code, i will be more than happy. As my activation key is not used (something i guess they can see) it should be possible? Good thing i got alot of money, so i dont get sad if i break the cds in half and burn it in anger :p Not such a good thing i have anger issues :p
Omg... this is on the level of "I'm sueing the company that made my microwave because the manual didn't say microwaving my cat wouid kill it"
Ofc, it could be that games have other laws implied for them. I only know i got to use my "angrerett" regret-right to deliver it back as long the key was not activated, but that is also 2-3 years ago. As commented below, it could have been out of goodwill. But the regret-law in Norway, say you can deliver back a merchandise after 14 days if not happy with it or the merchandise is what you think it would be. That goes for everything i tought, i do still belive that this law is binding whatever other laws the stores would make. If i go past those 14 days, i cant deliver it back or if the product is activated when it comes to games. That is at least what i have been told and as i have said, i do have used this law one several products as well games. But could be they just like me, but i doubt it because i am not the most likable person, at least so i am told. A bit to honest sometimes i think :p
Same in the Netherlands but it doesn't apply to opened software, same in most the EU as far as I know. They can't check whether you used the key or not, hence why you're not supposed to open it in the first place.
I find that a very disturbing comparisment. Far from the same, you only ridicule yourself by trying to ridicul others :) If you read the other comments you will see why i have this opinion. But i guess i can just as well explain it to you. All the games i have bought work on steam, many of those games does not have any markings of steam or it does not say anyhting about it on them at all. I checked if farming simulator 17 was on steam and then i also tought that was the case for this game as well. somewhat obvious. That i would think somehting else is just weird. Farming simulator is the first game i have bought that does not work on steam. So ofc i am frustrated and feel a bit cheated of sorts. If the case was that every game that i have that is compitable with steam had that mark on them, i would not have this discussion with you. And when buying many of the collectors boxes, you cant see if they have a steam mark on them or not before you actually open the box.
I see! That makes sence. But you have to open the box to find out if the key works in the first place :p A bit tricky this one :p
It's legally required to list such requirements.
So, if there is no mention of Steam on the box, don't expect the game to be working on Steam.
As said many times. This is not the case for many of the games that works with steam. Not every working game has steam mentioned on the box. That is whats make me frustrated and feeling cheated of sorts. If its legally required, why does it not show on many on my other collector boxes of the games that work with steam? Have you read the previous comments? Just check the box?!? I have said multiple times, i have many games that work with steam that has no marking on their boxes. farming simulator is the first not to be working with steam that i have bought. And, yes i understand its not steams fault now, its the developers of the games that does not mark their boxes correctly. But still, it does not help my frustration one bit :p
The publisher was forced to put stickers on boxes that were already delivered to stores that added a "Steam and internet connection is required".
