Yes it's something games use, like PunkBuster or BattlEye

Many use Easy-AC; such as:
7 Days to Die
Dead by Daylight
Hurt World
iRacing
Rust
Squad
The Culling
Warface
Watch Dogs 2

Bought Watch Dogs 2 recently?
After reading the reviews any way to stop it from running i don't want a vac ban on my 8 year old account.

It's legit, look in the game folder. How do you not know about it?
It had to pop up and install when you installed a game that uses it.

It's an anti-cheat mechanism enforced by Ubisoft for WD2. You can't get rid of it, and certainly have nothing to do with VAC.

So will it be safe to delete it out of my syswow64 folder in the windows folder. I don't like having game files in there only system files.

When i first ran the game no first time installs happened in steam or uplay.

Reviews from what bad posted says it will trigger a vac ban.

Probably from the same haters that keep saying UPlay is the bloatware of the decade.

You will break your games that use EAC if you remove it.
It's a required DRM. The reason it runs in the background (like PunBuster) it installs like a Windows Service; seriously leave it be.

And none of this has anything to do with Ubisoft; over a dozen games use EAC.
EAC is not actively doing anything, it sits there, ready for a game that requires it.

Install BF3 or BF4 for example, you'll have PunkBuster as a Windows Service too; same thing.

For the record

Easy Anticheat CAN be disabled with no negative effects.

All you have to do is add the -eac_launcher command line parameter to your WatchDogs2.exe shortcut and when you run it, EAC is disabled, you get a window letting you know that it is disabled along with online play.

Conversations with Ubisoft support, which we have transcripts of, state that they do not condone cheating of any kind, but they elude that there will be no repercussions (such as being banned from the game) for doing so in single player offline mode only. Of course, that doesn't mean that it won't happen, that's just what we were told. As always, with any cheat in a game that has both a single and multiplayer component, especially those that allow seamless transition, you must use it at your own risk.

If you plan on cheating in SP not in MP, thats the only reason to disable the anti cheat.

i recommend only DISABLING the anticheat
NOT Deleting it

Yea I've done the same thing when it comes to PunkBuster, there is for example a "A" and "B" Service for those and setting them to "Manual" rids them from always running in background; and as such, when changed to manual instead of any sort of "Auto" they can still run as needed, then the app calls upon them; like a Game that needs it.

But yes don't delete it; the game will simply want to reinstall it should it not be found.
If you uninstall Game(s) that use such a service from the system, then sure, you can uninstall/remove such service.
I just don't like having alot of processes running in task manager after i spent an hour turning off all unneeded services. I got windows 7 ult. 64 bit services down to 35 from the defualt 50 some. I don't cheat in sp or mp and don't plan to. I just like having my windows running like usain bolt and having alot of services running in task manager prevents this from happening.

Yeah im the same way.
but i ended up just leavin punkbuster alone cuz some times it didnt open automatically when bf4 was opened so id end up gettin kicked for it in game which got annoying.

its just one process so i leave it alone.
