STEEP: PS4 Controller Lag Issues

Steep is a great game. But one thing I love to be able to do in sport/racing games is to use my PS4 Controller, it gives me much more control in the game than my keyboard.
In the open beta, the game had an issue with my controller, the input seemed to be absolutly all over the place. Seems as though it was a beta, i dissmissed it as a bug that will be fixed on release.
But, this has not been fixed. My controller when putting an input in can either:
1. Not read the input at all.
2. Read the input for much to long and send me crashing into a tree.
3. Will read it for a very short ammount of time
4. Read it perfectly (Which is very very rare)
I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. If anyone knows how to fix this please get in touch because i'd love to be able to use my controller for this game!
(Note: Every other game I play such as Rocket League works with my controller, this game is the only exception to controller issues.)
