Locked out of market for changing passwords?
Is there anyway to get this removed? I just went through a nightmare of trying to get the authenticator on my phone, and with it all said and done I find that I'm locked out of the market for 5 days. I had to change my password because I could not find what it currently was, so I changed it and got everything set up. How can I get the lockout taken care of? I thought the authenticator was made to avoid this issue.

no.

Recent Password Reset

If you reset your password, you will be restricted from trading and the Community Market for 7 days. If your account has not had any activity for more than two months, these restrictions will apply for 30 days. We do this to help protect users who lose access to their email account. Note that this does not affect password changes, only password resets

Wow, so even though I have clear control of the original phone and email, and now have the authenticator, this just backdoor locks me out?

Jeez.
These security measures feel more like they are hindering my use of Steam features rather than protecting

it is there so people will be protected from hijackers that steal accounts and change passwords to quick sell/empty entire inventories.

I understand the purpose, it is just beyond frustrating that I can't communicate with an actual person to confirm I am the owner and not deal with these things

there is no bypassing this restriction. even if you do talk with a valve employee, nothing can be done. they will only reply, "you must wait out the 7 day restriction."

sorry. it is for everyone. no exceptions.

It shouldn't need to tell you. If you're in a position where you need to perform such a significant security change then things like this are very much needed.
