How do I cancel friend requests?

As you can see, I have 469 friends. However, steam says my friend list is full. (500/500 friends) I did a little bit of research and discovered that friend requests I sent b4, even they are not accepted, are occupying space in my friend list. But I'm not sure exactly how to cancel my requests. Anyone help me out so that I can add more friends? Much appreciated.

You can't. You have to wait until the recipients decide what to do with your request.

You can. They appears bottom of your friendlist on Steam client. There you can cancel.

On the friends list itself the word Friends is a pull-down menu. You want to show everybody not just online users. The yet unaccepted invite is at the bottom in the "INVITATIONS SENT" category. Right-click (or use the menu arrow rignt next to it) and choose "Remove this Friend..."
