GTA V installation
Hi guys,I'd like to buy GTA V but I read that it needs about 120GB of free space to install .Unfortunately I got 128GB SSD so I have about 80,85GB of free space. But an idea came to my mind,a friend of mine has got GTA V on steam ,what if I bought GTA V on Steam ,copy his GTA V folder from his PC to my PC and then I will locate it through the steam and just run,is this possible? Thanks

Sure, but copy the ACF file as well, or Steam won't recognize the game.
Or use the Steam backup feature.
Don't know what the ACF file is ... Thank you
Is this a good approach?
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps (Or wherever you have all of your games).

Copy all of the folders to your new SteamApps folder and delete all the appmanifest_xx.acf -files.

Open steam and click download on one of the games you just moved. It should detect the existing files (might take a few minutes), making it playable once again. Do this for all of the games you just moved and you're good to go.
No because you WANT the acf files.

Copy GTA 5 and it's ACF. appmanifest_#####.acf (#### = store page id).
So step by step (to be sure) it is : 1.Copy GTA V with ACF files from friend's PC to my PC 2.Buy the game 3.Click play ? That's it?
Do I also have to change the Steam ID in the .acf files?
Specifically in "appmanifest_271590.ACF"

They are located in the Steamapps folder which was also mentioned 6.5 years ago...

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
