[SOLVED] Fatal Error Steam Update for first time instalation
Hi Guys,

I need help.. i cannot update steam since i have install new at my computer
its say "Steam - Fatal Error" and the descriptions is "Steam need to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again."

since re-installing my PC with windows 10 OS, and for steam update i got this fatal error..

i tries many from forum discussion and nothing can solve this error..

my internet connection working fine..

UPDATE :
Its solved now, thank for any helping and comment below...
1. Steam first update
I dont know what things pake this solve, but i just tries many ways and restarting my PC until steam can update and open application..

2. Downloading stuck

many i have try to solve this
1. run at Admin Mode
2. Run Compatible win 7
3. add "-tcp"
4. disable Firewall
5.use Google DNS
6.reinstall
7.restart services
Did you search the forums before posting as per the sticky notes?

be sure to download steam from its official site: store.steampowered.com/about/
uninstall steam completely in windows in settings -> apps and features, remove also your old installer file. Use the newly downloaded installer to reinstall steam and see if that works.

What anti virus are you using? what about your firewall? these connection issues are often related to certificates. steam uses a secure connection to their update servers and from my experience kaspersky for example if you have the wrong region download will block those connections as the certificates don't match.

if norton is running, try disabling it. honestly though, not that it's any of my concern, but norton sucks on so many levels, i would not use it.

the region btw, is important for your ant virus, if you are from china but downloaded your AV from US the certificates your computer uses (chinese) won't match with those that the AV compares them to (US)
